About Me

Atlanta, GA, United States
Born and raised on Manhattan's upper Westside with psychoanalysis as our religion & the Broadway theater as our church... Mom was a professional musician with "Phil Spitalny and His All-Girl Orchestra," the model for "SOME LIKE IT HOT." She slapped the bass! Daddy came to NYC to be an opera singer. Instead, he became an architect, carving out his niche as the creator of "wedding palaces!" Like my parents, I married someone totally different from myself & when we celebrate our wedding anniversary, no one is more stunned & delighted than we are! We have 2 married sons enjoying their diverse careers. We share our dream home with a cat and a retired racing greyhound. Jim continues his "ultra" running and I continue pumping iron. Life is good.

IT'S A MIRACLE!!

IT'S A MIRACLE!

NPR radio carried a news story about the high level of VOTER REGISTRATION being mounted at BOB JONES UNIVERSITY (Virginia) where McCain support is overwhelmingly high.
FYI: BJU is ULTRA-FUNDAMENTALIST Christian. You can check out their rules & regs online.
So how do they reconcile their strict, fundamentalist morality with supporting for President of the USA an AVID GAMBLER (favors the craps table) in Las Vegas & wherever else it's legal?McCAIN HAS NEVER HIDDEN HIS LIFELONG LOVE OF GAMBLING and, as Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Indian Affairs, has supported the establishment of CASINOS ON INDIAN REServations; only blocking them when they conflict with the gambling interests of those lobbyists who have gotten to him.
Personally, if it's legal and he enjoys it and it's not creating a problem for him & his family, I say, "Live and let live."
But the NYTimes had a stunning investigative report on the influence of gambling lobbyists on McCain's chairmanship. That's a moral, if not legal, issue.
But, at BJU GAMBLING = SIN and McCain is clearly unrepentent!

Gosh, darn it, Bob Jones! How can ya call yourselves "Christians," and rally round this guy without even addressing the question of his enthusiastic gambling habits and legislation? What am I missin' here?
